u10 hurling vrs St Judes

A Cloudless morning welcomed St Judes to Cornelscourt for 2 games of hurling. It was perfect weather for it and everyone there was treated to 2 games full of skill and endeavour. Team 1 was Luka,David H,Owen T,Kevin,David M,Riley(u9),Jack D (u9) and Finn (u9). Dan took care of the coaching duties and was very happy with the performance and skill shown by all. They tackled hard and worked the sliotar well getting some lovely scores. They came up against an excellent St Judes side who had a few outstanding players who made the difference in the end scoring a couple more points than us.
Team 2 was Aodhán, James K,Morris,Johnnie,Conor,James(u9),Michael(u9) and Ryan(u9).Playing down the hill in the first half we got a lot of goals courtesy of the 2 Jameses and Johnnie. We defended in numbers when we had to and it was good practice because for the 2nd half St Judes came back at us but we held on for a narrow win. Very impressive was the amount of times we got the ball to hand with everyone trying it given half a chance. Aodháns first touch and confidence in his rising ability is just reward for all the extra work he has been doing out of training, keep up the good work it is paying off hugely. I was very impressed with the 3 u9s from their skill levels no one would have guessed that they had stepped up to play for us and Dan said the same about the 3 lads who played with team 1. It looks like Finbar has got a great bunch of lads coming up behind us, the future of hurling in the club looks good.
