Both the clubs Adult teams got off to winning starts on Sunday (18th Feb) big squads out for both matches. The tradition of brothers playing with the club which stretches right back to the 1880’s (4 sets of brothers played in the 1888 county final) has continued when the “Hussey Brothers” took the field for the first time in a competitive game. Both Daniel and Sean have been with the club since u8’s ( in Sean’s case he was playing u8 when he was 5) making them the first brothers in a long time to have come up through the ranks. The two lads are as committed as anyone in the club and are two “Gers Men” through and though. Eamonn their father has been part of (still is) the Gers set up for the juvenile revival and was a proud father watching the game. Great family occasion and here’s their future in the black and amber. Come on The Gers !!
