u11 girls vs Castleknock
Megan C, Willow, Lorna, Louise, Luisa, Grace, Haidi, Alannah, Keelin, Sophie, Alaina, Ruby, Courtney, Naomi, Gemma and Megan B – we applaud each of you for showing amazing courage, determination and mental toughness.
It was a horrendous day for our 12pm thrown in with Castleknock, freezing condition and driving rain. Our biggest challenge was trying keep keep the girls hands warm, thank you parents for your great help with this.
When the game started, we started very well and were camped in Castleknock’s half for long periods of the first half. Great scores from Gemma, Ruby, Haidi and Megan gave us a comfortable lead. Incredibly we moved the ball much better than we did last week which was great to see.
The second half was very very tough to play in , for all the girls. The instinct our girls had was to get off that pitch as quick as they could and get dry and warm and get home but this is when they showed true grit, through pain tears and numb hands they battle all the way to the end to get the win.
So very proud of our amazing team. Once again parents, you were amazing in your support and help, thank you.
Next Sunday we travel to Wanderers, let’s hope for kinder weather.
