Gers 2-17 0-7 Ballyfermot DLS
A fitter Gers team overcame the challenge of the visiting Ballyfermot team last Sunday (13th Oct.) with David Lavelle turning in his most productive afternoons work yet scoring 1-3 in the opening period. His goal after 13 minutes left the scores at 1-4 to 0-1, by halftime Schmeer had got a second point, as did Padraig Flynn and Donal McEnery to leave the scores at 1-9 to 0-2.
With the breeze in our favour in the second half it still took till 9 minutes to get our first score after the break, a McEnery free, but we soon tagged on further scores with super sub MacStiofán banging home a goal that left the ‘keeper standing. Ballyfermot scored a run of points in the final 10mins but the game was long over by this stage. Score of the day went to Schmeer who pointed from beyond the 45m line that capped an impressive individual display.
