Gers Girls Under 8’s v Gael na Oiga, 23 rd April 2017

Our under 8’s team of Aoibhe, Abigail, Anna, Freya, Keelin, Sisi, and Zoe played their fourth match of the season against a tough Gael na Oiga side on Sunday.

Gael no Oiga dominated possession in the first 10 minutes, but once our girls found their groove there was no stopping them.

Our super goal keeper and defenders defended like their lives depended on it making countless number of blocks and taking the ball out of the danger area.

Our midfielders won a lot of ball and used it intelligently keeping the pressure on the opposition for the 30 minutes.

Our forwards showed their skills and determination putting in a lot of fantastic hand passes and solos, again keeping the pressure on the opposition.

The girls delivered on everything that was asked of them – displaying their skills and working together as a team.

The girls racked up a number of scores with points from Keelin, Zoe and Anna.

To sum it up, the sun was not the only thing shining on Sunday morning – our girls shined for the entire match and by the final whistle came out on top by 2 points.

To see all the skills of the game being performed, and the improvement being made by every girl is so encouraging.

Once again, a big thank you to all our supporters for cheering on our Gers Girls.
