On Sunday 24th Feb, our hillwalking club got off to a great start when a group did the 14km round trip from Bray to Greystones. It was a beautiful morning for walking and as Dublin Mountain Rescue had warned us off the hills, we had a change of plan on Saturday night and decided on the cliff walk. Included in the walk was a leisureley break for coffee and scones in Somervilles in Greystones which worked a treat as the return journey did not seem to take half as long. The Gers don’t belive in sluming it when it comes to these walks and while we can’t assure coffee and scones on future walks, we have set standards and it will be cibatta and gourmet sandwiches when we are up the mountains {we are checking in the hope that we can preorder in the Gables!]. the next walk is scheduled for Sunday 10th March.thanks to all who participated and we aim to get more for our next trip. Thanks a million Ted for organising. And the coffee and scones were great too!

I’ve checked with The Gables and while they don’t do Ciabatta, they do an excellent Murphy’s & Treacle Bread – perfect for lunch in the hills.
