Darver, Louth was the venue for the Dublin under 17s encounter with Louth where two of our current minor players would feature. The Dubs lined out with Liam Tyrrell in midfield and Kevin Quinn among the substitutions after a fine display against Longford last time out. The visitors got off to a blistering start scoring two early goals and this was a sign of things to come as a relentless Dublin team kept finding the scoresheet.
Liam was heavily involved from midfield. He and his midfield partner from Castleknock were dominating the centre of the pitch. Louth went the first half scoreless and Dublin notched up two
more goals following on from the earlier brace. Louth were a different team in the second half and came out firing. Ten minutes into the second-half, Kevin was brought on into wing back while Liam was one of the few to play the full game. Kevin played some nice passes up the wing and provided an assist for a score from a line-ball. Dublin ran away eventual winners on a score line of 7:13 to 0:5.
It was great to see two of our own clubmen passing to one another in the famous sky blue of Dublin. It’s a huge achievement and an honour for our club and it’s brilliant to see the hard work that has been put in the under-age setup starting to pay off. Congratulations to Liam and Kevin and we wish them good luck against Cork and Kerry in the coming weeks.
