Meeting point and time for the parade is Kilgobbin Lane between 12.30 – 1pm in time for parade kick off at 1.30pm from the Belarmine Roundabout.
Please wear full Club gear and plenty of under armour/warm layers as there can be a lot of standing around and even if it’s sunny like today, it will still be cold, especially for the children.
Any hats, zogabonds, whistles and horns – bring ’em all. We want people to remember the Gers so the more noise we make, the more they’ll remember us. If older children want to bring their Gaelic footballs and display some skills on the long walk that is great. Hurls can be carried but not used as weapons…..we are not marching into battle, save that for the matches the following weekend.
Parents who have face paints, if they could paint faces before they get there, it would help greatly. There will be limited face painting at the meeting point and it could all get very messy.
There is an option park at Stepaside Golf Course as before and walk down (approx 20/25 minutes walk for little legs) – if you want to organise your groups to meet there and walk down together that will be fine, just allow enough time to get to the meeting point on time.
The finish point is up around Stepaside Park as before (which is near that so it might be worth it in the end rather than walking all the way back to the beginning) and there will be treats for all our young walkers after their hard work.
Thanks to all and Happy St. Patrick’s Day
