A beautiful sunny start to the Under 11’s Girls season. Gers fielded two U11 teams in challenge matches against our neighbours Shankill at their pitches on Stonebridge Rd.
Each of the matches were full throttle nail biters despite the wind winning its fair share of ball in front of the posts initially. Shankill had the upper hand in the first half with them converting chances more consistently than ourselves however the Gers girls came storming back in the second half in both matches.
Both club’s teams showed great improvement since their previous meeting. It was a great experience for some of our newer recruits to put their training into practice and along with the more experienced players they played out of their skins. Well done to all the Gers Girls for showing the commitment and determination to play to the final whistle and sneak the win.
