In what was at times a very hard fought match, our first outing in the league against a strong Plunketts side, ended in a draw with 6 goals and 3 points for Geraldine’s and 4 goals and 9 points to Plunketts.

The game was held in Kilgobbet on a perfect pitch. Our boys got off to a very fast start with some well worked moves that resulted in goals. Unfortunately Plunketts only had 13 players so we had to play 13 a side, making it difficult to give everyone a game.

Bravery was the order of the day, and going a goal down with 5 minutes to go meant we had to dig down very deep. Everyone gave it all they had and the game was drawn with a goal. Then Plunketts burst up the field and got what looked like the winning point, only for the Gers to show huge character, running up the field once more, fouled on the 21 and great bravery shown to put the free over the bar on the full time whistle.

The next 2 Saturday’s for two more league games so we will be busy!

Well done to all the boys who represented their club with character and pride on Saturday. All parents and mentors where very proud of them.
