What a match, with heroes all over the field. After a low scoring first half, with 3 points a piece, the game really took off in the second half, with end to end football.

Conor R, out from his sick bed, was phenomenal in goals, and a tower of strength the whole match. Our full back line of Seamus, Brian and Conor B battled all day, with some tremendous goal line saves and blocks a feature of the match. We were delighted with them.

Daniel C later stepped into the breach at full back, with one of his best games of the season, with Brian moving first to half back and later to midfield, proving to be the winning of the game together with Byron moving in to full forward where he caused havoc! A key part of this was also Naoise moving back to centre back, where his cool clearances late on proved vital.

Our half backs of Cian, Daniel and Eoin had great games, with Cian having a particular blinder, up and down the field as well as bagging the turning point goal and a later point! Eoin had a great game, with some excellent ball winning today.

Midfield started with Conor K who gave a great display of midfield battling and catching and Byron who showed tremendous strength and tackling ability. We recon only lost 2 or 3 kick outs in the whole match, a telling statistic!

The half forward line was Hubie (who had his best game of the season), Mark and Paul. Mark had a particularly strong first half and worked hard all day with some great scores. Paul battled hard, and provided some important defensive runs in the second half in particular, as well as a fine point late on in the game.

Chris, Cian and Luke started in the full forward line, with all three trting hard against a very strong defence. Later Max went in there to provide a different option and won some good ball for us.

the last 15 minutes were very exciting with end to end football, St Pats going ahead by 4 points, the gers getting back level with a point and a goal, and then going into the lead with a second and third goal! A somewhat harsh penalty was very well converted by St pats to get back within a goal. Gers has 2 shots at goal saved, and managed to hold out through 3 minutes of injury time for a great victory, 3 8 to 2 8

Thanks to all the boys and their parents who traveled out to Donabate… Where our Feile Saturday will be. A great afternoons football.

The managers!

Well done to the Under 14 team. Never easy to go away to the North side and win. The team and all involved are a credit to the club.
