After all the fun of St Patrick’s Day parade in Stepaside, the Geraldine’s U9s entertained the Lucan Sarsfields at home on 18th March.

There were two matches played, with the Gers boys being divided into two teams.

The first team took to the pitch with Michael, Jack O’Gara, Ryan, Senan K, Senan McNiff, Cillian, Liam, Seamus, Harry, and a substitute from the Lucan team all in fine form. The game itself was close and action-packed, with Senan and Jack O’G playing well, and Cillian in top form as usual.

On the other pitch, Tadgh, Jack Dillon, Daniel, Alec, Jack Dolan, Finn, Riley, Charlie and Luke lined out for the Gers. This match turned out to be a belter with a goal from Jack Dillon and points for nearly everybody else! Fair play to Luke, who played great in a difficult game, his shots hardly ever going wide of the posts.

Well done to all the Gers boys, it’s always great to have an opportunity to run off the sweets you’re allowed only on St Patrick’s Day, even though it’s lent!
