The U10’s travelled to Tallaght on Saturday to play Croi Roi Naofa – a new team with some players playing their very first competitive match. Having had a great game against the same opposition just before Christmas, the mentors were looking forward to another good display.
The Ger’s again did themselves proud – giving an absolutely terrific performance that included all the skills that the team has practiced recently: marking, tackling, passing and running on and off the ball. All aspects of the game were on show – all except ‘point-taking’ which was the only low point on the day.
It is hard to mention all the players – EVERYONE PLAYED SO WELL – but special mention should go to Charlie (who was excellent in his first game at U10’s), Alex (who took the goalie’s jersey given Ben was unwell), an JD (who was exceptional in mid-field).
Thanks to the ref, the parents who cheered on from the sideline, and to Croi Roi Naofa for reminding us of the amazing sport that we play!
