Happy New Year to all and welcome to another exciting and enjoyable year of Gaelic Games.

With the start of our new year, we also have a new Executive Committee to help steer us in the right direction. Lots of old faces and, thankfully, new ones as well!

All Committee members are assigned an area of interest - to help promote and develop our Club as a welcoming and enjoyable experience for all.

Firstly, a warm welcome to those that are joining the committee for the first time.

Susan Donnelly will be the players representative and will work with the nominees from the adult teams to create a forum for two way communications with our senior players. Susan will also revert with proposal to increase our feedback and interaction with representatives of Juvenile players.

Anna Martin will lead our thinking on and help develop initiatives on inclusivity. Our ultimate goal is to be an all-inclusive club and your Executive is delighted that Anna has agreed to take the lead on formally starting this journey for us. We would ask all our club members to support Anna in this new role and to provide any input, ideas or support that you can.

Mary McNamara. Mary will also focus on how we interact with parents, especially new parents and in particular those with no GAA background. Mary has also kindly agreed to assist the Secretary and Chairperson in club-wide planning activities.

Declan Flood will take up a new role as Coaching Officer. Dec will work with all our coaches on developing and implementing our coaching standards and best practices. He will also be the voice of the coaches at the committee level. Dec will also work with all our juvenile and senior coaches and the coaching sub-committee on finalising and implementing our new player pathway.

The remaining roles will be filled as follows,

Fiona Boland will continue as Marketing lead and Sean Hussey will continue as Public Relations officer. Fiona and Sean will both work together on developing and promoting our Club brand and on improving our communication with all our members and the wider community on club activities.

Dave Lavelle will take on the role of Club Treasurer and will be supported by Anne Moffatt as Deputy Treasurer. Financial management is key for all clubs and we are sure that Dave and Anne will be a very strong team to lead us in this critical area,

Colm Kennedy will continue as Club Registrar in addition to supporting on our club hurling and coaching strategies.

Caitríona Kennedy will continue as Adult ladies representative and will also lead on the development and implementation of our Adult ladies club strategy.

Finbarr Holland will lead the development and implementation of our Hurling strategy and will also work closely with Dec Flood on implementing our Coaching standards and player pathway and retention.

Paul O’Connor will be the representative for Men’s adult football and will also lead our fund raising activities for 2024. At the AGM and in the Secretary’s and Chairpersons report we highlighted the critical need to expand our fundraising activities. We will be looking for support across the club for Paul in this key role. Paul will also be on the Coaching Sub- Committee.

Ted McEnery will be the lead on Facilities and will develop and implement a number of initiatives to enhance our facilities. Ted will be in touch with coaches to put in place a working group to ensure that our grounds are maintained to a high standard and meet our coaches expectations. Ted will also lead the liaison with our local residents and ensure that we have positive relationships with them

Eóin Mac Maoilir , in addition to his role on the coaching sub-committee, will lead our thinking and development of plans to help us act as a One Club. This will include defining our culture and values, ensuring that we listen to all our members and creating a great sense of integration across the club.

Mary Browne and John McCabe will continue their wide-ranging administrative roles as Juvenile Secretary and Club Secretary.

Tom Purcell will continue as Juvenile Chairperson but has expressed a desire to transition from the role in the coming year, once an appropriate replacement has been found. In addition to his current role, Tom will lead our thinking on a number of club wide areas (as we plan our next phase of growth), such as development and implementation of GAA policies and also assessment and management of risks.

Ger Moffatt, our Chairperson will continue to develop the Club’s strategy and structure via effective engagement and planning, working with the Executive committee and club members.
